Olga Maletina

Olga Maletina, M.A.

Director, Department of Linguistics

Olga is a linguist and pedagogue. She received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the United States at Brigham Young University (Provo, Utah).

For her undergraduate degree she double majored in Latin-American Studies (learning about Latin American culture and Politics as well as Portuguese and Spanish) and Russian as a Second Language, and for her graduate degree she specialized in Second Language Teaching (you can view/download her Master's Thesis paper here: http://scholarsarchive.byu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=5093&context=etd).

She has taught Russian and English as a Second Language at BYU, participated in linguistics projects with ACTFL and E-Learning Consulting and has been working as a translator for the last 4 years. 

She spent 9.5 years in the United States (Salt Lake City and Boston area), and currently resides in the Cayman Islands.

Aside from her passion for languages, she also enjoys singing and learning about natural healing with diet and herbs.
